Cattleya aclandiae
Cattleya aclandiae is one of the most compact species in the genus. A warm grower from tropical coastal Brazil,
the plants seem to grow better mounted. Plenty of light and air humidity are best for growing the species.

Cattleya amethystoglossa
This species grows tall, robust plants that can
produce up to 20 or more pink-magenta flowers (up to 4" or more across); these are lightly to heavily spotted.
Plants are warm growers and like plenty of light and dryer during fall and winter. Two selected plants used here.

Cattleya araguaiensis
This is one of the less common species in cultivation.
Comes from Central Brazil and thus is a warm grower. Flowers are about 4" across. Very limited quantity.

Cattleya eldorado
The showiest Cattleya species
from the Amazon. This is an unifoliate with flowers about 6" across and subtle pink tones on the segments
and yellow throat (yellow turns to orange when flowers age). Fragrance is wonderful. Warm grower.

Cattleya granulosa
Very showy species from the beaches of the northeastern
region of Brazil. Plants get quite tall and robust, producing then several waxy flowers about 5"across. Flower
color goes from green to yellow to bronze to dark red. Warm growers.

Cattleya harrisoniana
A warm growing species from Brazil that also withstand
very low temperatures. Flowers can be up to 4" across and are produced up to 8 on an inflorescence. Very good
growers.

Cattleya intermedia
This is the regular form of the species. So much
has been done in terms of improvement of the species that we forget how the flowers usually look like.

Cattleya kerrii
A very rare species from coastal tropical Brazil.
The species is closely related to Cattleya harrisoniana, but plants and flowers are a bit smaller. Warm grower..

Cattleya leopoldii
Robust species from Southern Brazil. Plants grow
on the coast, mainly on swamps and sand dunes. Plants get up to about 2' tall and produce up to more than 15 flowers
(that are about 3"-4" across) per inflorescence. Extremely fragrant.

Cattleya loddigesii
One of the best known of the bifoliate cattleyas,
and the first to be described. The delicate colors of the well-balanced flowers make the species a long time favorite
among growers. Plants stay manageable for a bifoliate and frequently start blooming quite small. Flowers 4".
Intermediate, but cold and heat tolerant.

Cattleya luteola
This is the smallest of the unifoliate cattleyas.
It comes from the Amazon lowlands, so it is a warm grower and doesn't like too much of a seasonal variation. The
bright yellow flowers are about 2"across and produced up to 8 at a time on very compact plants.

Cattleya schilleriana
An extremely showy Brazilian bifoliate. Plants are
robust, but short. Flowers are very distinctive, and up to more than 4" across. Intermediate growers, plants
prefer it a bit dryer in the winter. Medium to strong light, depending on growing temperatures.
