Laelia - Regular

This page includes all regular (not selected for shape or color, etc...) Laelia species, Brazilian or exotic.

Laelia grandis x sib

A lesser known species in the Cattleyodes section, this is the warmest growing in the group. Flowers are about 4" to 5" across, and produced 3-6 on the inflorescence. Light conditions typical for the group, that is, high intensity. It is sometimes confused with L. tenebrosa.

2" - 15.00

Laelia macrobulbosa x sib

One of the very seldom seen rupicolous laelias. Plants get large, and inflorescences can be more than 2' tall. The yellow fowers are very bright, and about 2" across. Flowers similar to those of Laelia gloedeniana.

2" - 20.00

Laelia mixta

Another yellow species from Espírito Santo State, this one has very restricted distribution and it can be considered quite rare in cultivation. Flowers about 1 ¾" across.

FS - 20.00

Laelia munchowiana x sib

A fairly recently described species, likely never offered for sale before. Unfortunately the picture here is not very representative. Flowers are small, a bit over 1" across, and produced on fairly tall inflorescences.

2" (NFS) - 35.00

Laelia pabstii

Very similar to Laelia caulescens, but flowers are slightly smaller and darker. The species is sometimes knows in the trade as Laelia mantiqueirae.

NFS - 15.00

Laelia praestans

The Hadrolaelia species that produces the best shaped flowers, L. praestans should be grown the same way as L. pumila and L. dayana. Flowers about 4" to 5" across.

3" (FS) - 20.00

Laelia tenebrosa x sib

Out cross between two dark tenebrosas. The results expected are dark segments with contrasty dark purple lips.

2" - 15.00
