TAXONOMY

Here I will present some clues on how to identify the species and comment on how to separate closely related ones. Rest assured that I will try not to use taxonomic jargon (except when unavoidable), but in case I have to a glossary of the offending terms is being included as a separate page (and then the linked terms are marked in DARK RED). You can e-mail me any questions.

THORNY ISSUES (or "Well..., how can I tell this from that ?")

This and subsequent articles will be numbered for easy access. In cases like this, when we compare two or more species, I will give a brief description of each and then stress the differences.

1- Cattleya loddigesii and C. harrisoniana
2- Cattleya nobilior and C.walkeriana

NEW ENTITIES

Also in this case, articles will be numbered.

1- Cattleya xJoaquiniana Miranda
2-
